R56 Replacement battery options?
Replacement battery options?
So on wednesday morning, I go to start my car and all the lights go off and there is a click, no start. Put it on the trickle charger for a few days, still no start. AAA comes yesterday and uses a jump start pack and it starts right up. They tested the battery, and it came in at 10.12 volts and 126 cca. For the starter test, the voltage was .04 volts and 3.1 amps. I have the paper still if a picture helps. After they leave, I run the car for and hour and a half.
Today, battery is so low that the power locks and windows barely work. I think that at this point I need a new battery. I was looking at the optima yellowtop, but not sure of the model to get. Any input on this battery or other ones would be great, also say how long your battery lasted. Mine is about 4 years old.
TL;DR My battery is probably toast and I need advice on a new one

When cells die, the battery is toast and no matter how well your alternator works, or if you get a jump, it will not re-start the car. You are absolutely right, it sounds like you need a new battery.
You should be able to input your cars year make and model to any parts store to find an equivalent replacement of the same size. Or if you want to spend more, you should be able to do the same at the dealer for a factory battery.
If you have not installed any over the top large amp drawing electrical upgrades in the car, a factory capacity battery would be fine and you really shouldn't need a high performance battery.
