Making Progress

Well guys and gals, I am getting a lot closer to the finish line. I took Tackleberry over to have the DuelL AG graphics put on Thursday. The guy putting them on messed up the side checker-patterned graphics, so I am having to have the redone. Tackleberry did get most of the graphics applied. Tuesday, he is receiving a new set of black 17x7 OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels. Here are a few pics of what he looks like right now.

7/25/15 - These are updated and pics of what Tackleberry currently looks like.

Looks great. Did you sell the NM wheels?

No I have not. I have anticipated on keeping them to put on my wife's 2010 MCS. She has the black R113s on it right now and will need new tires in about a year or so. I thought I would switch her from the 18" R113s to my 17" NMs and sell the R113s. In the meanwhile, if someone was close enough to pick them up and give me $800, I would seriously think about selling them.

I am getting them from Tire Rack. Duell was trying to help me get them a little cheaper, but I just decided I would order them myself. I am having them drop-shipped to our local Discount Tire store where I have done business before.

What are the specs for the wheels your getting?. I thought Duell had some special offsets you could not get from Tire Rack?.

The wheels that are exclusively sold by DuelL AG are 17x7.5 OZ Racing/DuelL AG Superturismo LM23s (available in +35 and +45 offset). These are $780 each plus shipping. These would take 4-6 weeks to arrive.

The wheels I am getting are black 17x7 OZ Racing Ultraleggeras (+37 offset). These are $280 each plus shipping ($51.24) and they only take two days to get here.

Why did you get hood graphics installed if you're getting a new hood shortly? Or did I miss you finally getting the hood?

Oh, the hood. The hood idea has been nixed. First hood arrived damaged by the carrier (Pilot Freight). The second hood came in straight from Japan and it arrived damaged as well (DHL). After two damaged hoods, I told Cosque and Vince that I would just do without the hood. They are going to be repackaging the hoods as a result of shipping damages. When you are talking $3000 for a hood, you cannot afford to have one get broken. Not getting the hood has saved me money.

Agreed you saved a ton of money and possibly more headache by trying to have another one shipped. It's a bit disappointing that Duell couldn't pack something so expensive so well that it'd take a nuke to damage it lol considering their attention to detail in their other parts. Car still looks amazing.

They have learned their lesson from this experience.

Lyle at Vinyl Styles did them. He is neighbors with GT Concepts (DuelL AG North America).
