R56 The Official R56 1/4 Mile Time Thread

You should really only compare to your own times at your track. There are way too many variables to compare to other parts of the country. I plan to do this in the fall. Make notes of the temperature, barometric pressure and humidity. I raced my 90 Mustang for years and could predict what times it would run based mainly on the barometric pressure that day. If the pressure was high, around 30.4 I would expect 13.40s, if the pressure was down to 29.70 times would go up as high as 13.60s.
It can be fun and exciting. Just pay attention to the details.

I have a host of issues which keep me from driving the car too hard for long including carbon buildup im sure, crappy plugs, dirty k&n, and the fact I just put it back together a few days ago and am still in beta (missing fasteners and zip tie) mode
just for the hell of it I did an AP log on the way home and did a 6.059 0 -60 with a crappy 2.449 60 foot time
This was my only launch thus far and the entire car is new to me as the wheel and tires are different, I have a new turbo etc. I have been driving the 135 the last few months
setup: 07 mcs 6mt
k04 hybrid turbo
riss dp
cnt exhaust
ap stage 2
I managed a 2.058 60' on my old wheels and crappy tires with stock turbo and stage 1 tune so optimistically with a better launch and tune up I think mid 5s are realistic. The larger turbo really doesn't shine in lower gears as it reaches peak boost a good bit later so I may do the same or worse up to 60 than a stock turbo car
didnt want to do a full 1/4 mile pull on a car thats not in perfect running condition on a friday night with a suspended license lol
edit: car has 75k miles w 50k tuned with hard driving, original clutch feathered at 3k with minimal wheelspin, then powershifted into 2nd
edit number 2...on stock turbo this car (actually car and nam acct are my girlfriends) consistently walked my 07 g35 by a decent amount, and also a friends 04 g35 auto with full bolt ons and osirus tune with 266whp

Haha I hope all of you get my humor! That is the wrong thing to do! With my completely stock 13 MCS and the first and only run with it I just held it at around 2250-2500 rpm and let the clutch out pretty quickly, not a full dump, spun in first, chirped second and third. Ran a 15.1 at 98mph. I need to get a bit better on the launch. I also now have exhaust, intake, and the torque arm insert. Hopefully at this point I should be able to run a bit better!

What??
How is this thread so dead?? Never in my experience on forums have people been so reluctant to post 1/4 times and mods.
The only logical explanation? This:
"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call ... The Twilight Zone".

Just kidding, dude. I'm sure I'd run mid 15's too. I'm not quite used to launching a TC car. Plus it's my DD so I'm reluctant to practice such exhibitionism. Is yours MT or auto?
By the way. I'm new to the forum; does anyone know if there's a sarcasm font?

that's a fantastic time!! i'm hoping to run at least under a 14 when all is said and done.

Very nice. I intend to do a little drag racing and some autocross. I'm hoping for some sub 15 times in the stock baseline form.

The factory run flats are impossible to launch on. It would free spin 1st and a lot of 2nd gear at stock power level. I put regular tires on and now even with mods it only wheel hops a tad in first and then grabs. I think with decent regular tires, a 14.5-14.7 is completely manageable for a stock power level MCS.

Last year when my MCS was stock, I went to the drag strip and wasn't able to run faster than 15.1.

Would be interesting to run my MINI with street tires and the Nitto NT01's back to back to see the difference. Funny being a 1/4 mile V-8 gearhead from way back I really never thought about 1/4 miles times with this car.
Pretty strange actually thinking about it now. I think its time to get some numbers on Jack.

2011 MCS Hardtop. 185lb driver. 1/2 tank of 93 V-Power. Enkei Imola 17x7. 22psi (tires.) Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season 215/45. Sport susp. AEM CAI. 3" catless DP. JB+ 75%. Temp ~64F.
The dual mass flywheel is **** for launching. Three of the large springs broke. A medium and small spring bent.

I held the rpm's right around 5600 and just dumped the clutch! Spun through first, second, third, and chirped in fourth! Ran a 15.7

Finally to the drag strip
After a year and a half I finally get back to the track. I made four passes. The first run was immediately after tech in and the second was 30min later with the hood shut in between. Then I let it cool for an hour with the hood open for the third and fourth runs. It is bone stock. 3/4 tank of gas. I submitted the details of run 3 to dragtimes.com but it has not been posted yet.

Its a forge copy. It was one of the first things I did when I bought the car to prepare for tuning. It took me a little while to actually want to install it and I was going to wait since winter was coming but I'm glad I didn't.
Also just ran a 13.5 @102mph this past Friday.
