I just bought a 2013 Clubman S. I live in San Diego, but opted for All Weather Tires.
For what it's worth, it was 45 degrees this am!
Compared to the performance tires on my 2007 Cooper S, I think they are much quieter and still handle corners well.
They are continentals.
