Driving lights mounting issue!!

If anyone can please give any advice or help, it would be much MUCH appreciated.

So, I have bought the OEM JCW Grille w/ Mounting Bracket http://www.shopminiusa.com/PRODUCT/6...DRIVING-LIGHTS ,but I do not want to spend the extra $300+ on the Driving Lights. My question is, will the Hella 500 driving lights fit on the OEM mounting bracket? If so, will I still need to buy the switch module?

I have a R56 just to clarify 2nd Gen.

Thanks

I've been thinking about this too and wonder if anyone has tied mounting Big Hella HID lamps. I want to see the deer at 600 meters before I have to slow down. LOL Sorry for jumping in here.

I just don't want to spend a fortune on the "MINI" driving lights and I heard the Hella 500's are great quality. ...I may have messed up by already buying the OEM Mounting Bracket... :/

The OEM brackets are really thin, are they not? I would suggest looking at Out Motoring's bracket option, it's very beefy.

You've sort of painted yourself into a corner if you're stuck with the brackets you've got. Why not buy a set of Hella 500s locally and see if they fit? If not you can always return them. The Hellas come with everything you need including a switch that you can mount in the oem position on the knee bolster.

I agree with ammodave. Pick up a set locally and see what you're working with. I don't think your problem would be mounting the Hellas on the bracket, but if the oem bracket is slim you may have clearance issues with the grill.
