R56 Whose converted to all spherical bearings in there suspension?
Whose converted to all spherical bearings in there suspension?
I want to hear from people that have changed up there suspension to all spherical bearings. Here what i have planned and want to know how made it going to be for NVH. I can tolerate quite a bit but worried to what extent it will increase.
KW V3 coilovers with vorshlag camber plates
ALta PSRS
Rear upper and lower spherical control arms
That only leaves the trailing arm bushing in the entire suspension that can deflect.
Am i asking to much for a daily driver that sees a half dozen track days a year?

I wouldn't recommend replacing all the parts with spherical bearings. We see them wear out very quickly on street cars. Plus it's a good idea to have a little give to cut down on the wear of the parts.
But there has to be plenty of other guys with the same combo? Everyone seems to have rear control arms and the PSRS a quite common. Who has at least both of those?
i'm worried about life of the joints but at $20/pc to replace a rear spherical it isn't a terrible expense to just replace every other season as preventative maintenance.

I think most guys here have h-sport control arms. Almost the MINI aftermarket standard when it comes to those. I've got them on mine and they work great.
Instead of the Alta PSRS I went with the Powerflex polyurethane FCABs after hearing of the various issues with Alta. It's hard to argue with a simple polyurethane part. You can get the Powerflex in a race compound, but heck the standard purple compound is miles ahead of what the stock rubber bushings are packing
I'm really happy with them. I notice the difference mostly during very hard braking at the track. No more squishy front end dive!

Hows the durability of the PSRS? Those are a pain to change out and don't know about having to change that out every other season......
My top hats on my Vorschlags after 30mnths of use and 50km seem to be rattling more than they did new. I have a set of KW top hats lined up ready to go in for the rebuild on the vorshlags.
I willing to do the work and understand longevity of these parts is shortened because of the harsh condition but how is ride quality? how harsh is harsh?

Leaving aside the fact you seem willing to destroy the ride qality of your daily driver for an upgrade that you will only take advantage of 6 days a year, what is the benefit of this on those six days? When I raced a 944, people with this sort of suspension had dedicated race cars with stripped-out interiors, shaved tires, and roll cages; they were straining to shave those last few 10ths from the car. For you to suffer with this sort of ride quality 359 days a year, I'd think you saw more benefit than that.
