R56 Mini Troubles, Please Help
I appreciate all the responses and i'm not opposed to taking it in to BMW to get looked at. I just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing something simple. I have but a new battery and still same result. I have been over every fuse and electrical wire that i can see under the hood and can't find anything that looks burnt or fried. I just can't get it to turn over at all. There is a dip in the power to the solenoid on the starter when i try to crank it but nothing is happening. I can actually even hear the fuel pump kick on as well. I really believe that either the Ecu is gone or i have a short. or the starter is bad. I might be shooting for optimistic but i don't think it's catastrophic. I have actually spoken to MINI of Dallas and they told me the ECu is still under manufacturer's warranty. So if it does have to be replaced it won't be on my dime. Thanks again for all the advice. I will try and keep you guys updated.
Also I posted in your other thread withe same response as BMC_Kid. Take it to the shop because the ECU is one of those things that can get really out of hand in a hurry of you don't have experience with them. Also we cab only speculate and give ideas at what to look at but, without being there it could be all kinds of stuff we can't see and you either might not tellong is or stuff you are not sure what you are looking at. Not saying this is the case at all. Keep us posted and it might be worth your wild and the forum's if you document all of what happened plus have the mechanic do the same so that if this happens to anyone else there is a kick off point. Best of luck to you.
Are you taking it to MINI or BMW because it does matter?

"I pulled over to the side of the road and tried to crank it and it would turn over once but would not start."
So were you mistaken then or now, or has the situation gotten even worse?
You also said originally "It would turn over several times but still would not crank." Turn over and crank mean the same thing.
Right after the first incident, the car would try to crank or turn over, but would not actually start. Now it won't even do that, I have an appointment to take to MINI next week so when they tell me what's wrong, i'll let everybody know, thanks for all of the help
