First Check Engine Light NON S

So while down in VA for work last week I got a check engine light.
Symptoms are
1. Rough idle
2. Missing at random under load
3. Cooling Fan runs constantly

busted out the scan gauge at home and came up with codes
1. P0117
2. P0128

Car is at Mini of Mt Laural right now and there saying a recall was just issued last week for the cooling system?

Any one besides me have this issue ? I searched over the weekend and came up with nothing.

FYI car is a 2011 Cooper HT base manual with 46K miles

Starting to rethink the extended warranty

Gotta call from the dealer last night,
Car is still in the shop with a random misfire
plugs have been changed and the issue is still occurring?

Love this car but problems like this @ 46K have me very concerned
Part of the reason for passing up on the S was to avoid the mechanical issues.....

Sounds like the coolant temp sensor (fan running constantly) could be the problem.

My car has had this problem since day 1. Seems to be fine now after the fix.

Just got a call back....
The timing issue/misfire seems to be the timing chain jumped a tooth or two!!!!

Has anyone heard of the base motor having a timing chain issue?

I am getting a really bad fealing about this

Ouch, a jumped timing chain is not good! And it pretty much says the SA at my local dealer is wrong when he told me that the Justa motors (2011+) didn't have timing chain issues.

Very curious to hear any possible root cause on this problem!!!

It is possible as the chain tensioner is oil pressure based. If there was ever a condition where the car was very low on oil or an air bubble decided to get into the tensior, the slack in the chain could have allowed a skip. Twice my non-S had the death rattle (timing chain grinding) for about 40 seconds.

Also the non-S engines had a few reports of being destroyed by the vacuum pump seizing.

Oil is checked once a week due to driving 700+ miles per week,
And is changed every 8K.
