R56 Inter cooler muffler delete-Check engine light?
Inter cooler muffler delete-Check engine light?
After doing the intercooler muffler delete with an 8" section of hose the hose blew loose after the first run from not being tightened enough. After driving back home a mile and making the repair a check engine light came on and stayed on. Any ideas and how do I get it off?
Is it just a code or are there drivability issues?
Is the light stuck on?
Do you have access to a code reader?
You could try the battery reset method, (future posters may deny its use, I have no comment, but it's worth a try)
I took mine out without any codes or issues.
Though when it came off, it could set a real code that may have to be cleared with a reader.

Grab hold of an approved MINI-protocol scanner, and remove the stored fault code.
NO, removing power from the ECU does not clear out faults as the codes are stored in the ECU's non-volatile memory.
You must use a scanner to correct clear any stored codes from the ECU.

You will need a code reader to read and clear the codes. If the car is driving fine, it most likely related to the leak at install.
