G-Oil

No, not Gangster oil.Green Oil, has anybody had any experience with this product? The "dirty hippie" in me likes that it's environmentally friendly and the "conservative American" in me likes that it's made in America. However the auto enthusiast in me is not sure it's the BEST thing for Stanley....

Sanduneboi, I have my doubts too, but only based on the fact that I have never heard of this before. Walmart sells it locally, but I'll wait a few years to see if anyone destroys an engine using it. Biodegradable - does that mean you can dump it in your vegetable garden?

There's always someone to claim wonderful things as a result of using a certain product. Some swear by purple oil, so why not green? Using dye to color oil seems a bit much to me.

Let us know your experience if you decide to use it

I've seen this on TV before and they did a tour of their plant, spoke with the CEO, etc. Looks legit and there's a Le Mans series car that runs on the stuff. I've wondered why we all don't use it, myself, if it is what it's cracked up to be.

Cars 2 was just out not that long ago, now this

I'd probably wait for the "I've run it for 200,000 miles" testimonials as well.

G-Oil has a fully synthetic too, it's just not petro-based.

"Unlike traditional petrochemical-based motor oils from leading manufacturers, Green Earth Technologies' G-OIL is made with American-grown renewable animal fats. These saturated fats, whose molecular single-bond carbon chains are similar to common petroleum oils, have no harsh effects on the environment, and drastically cut our dependence on foreign oil."TreeHugger.com

Well now I'm curious as to which animals fat they use... Lypo-suction leftovers?

"It is sustainable and can be collected domestically with grown beef, pork, chicken fat and plant oils." - from their website

All oil is from animal and plant byproducts. In the case of dino-oil it sat in the ground 70 million years. G-oil is going right for the source!

worked at an auto parts store (went into bankruptcy) and we had gotten a lot of this g-oil stuff last year. my last day was a few weeks ago and my store only had sold 4 quarts of this since we got them in. there was a lot of interest but nobody ever pulled the trigger. plus it was almost the same price a quart as mobil and castrol full synthetic.

Change your oil and use the what's left as a salad dressing. A little garlic...

the website says nothing about meeting BMW LL-01 spec as called out for the mini coopers, so no thanks, but if you use it that means more conventional oil left for me
