Hello guys i had this problem twice let me introduce you to the problem:
I was cruising at 3000 rpm in third gear, the next happens in less tham half second; then i wot and the power comes and suddenly hessitates and i hear a metalic noise ( i was whit window open) like crashing metals then comes the power again. This is the second time i have this "thing".
Any idea about it?
Thanks

I had a similar thing happen a few days ago, I took it in and it was the turbo recirculation valve.

The hesitation happened to me a few times. The DME had a few superknock codes stored. The dealer attributed it to carbon buildup. They did the walnut cleaning, I put an oil catch can and PCV block off on right after, and I’ve never been able to duplicate the hesitation since. And no more superknock codes have popped up.

Is a stock 6spd cooper s 2009 whit 35k miles.
So maybe is a superknock? Recirculating valve? And the metal noise is from the recirculating valve?
Thanks

I’m assuming you’re still under warranty (’09 w/ 35k) so take it to the dealer. Even if they can’t reproduce the hesitation, they could still find any stored codes and work from there.

My dealer didn’t even try to reproduce the situation. They just scanned and found the superknock codes and tried the carbon cleaning to see if that would fix it (and it did). I guess it depends on how proactive your dealership it.

I'm having this issue. It's not consistent, only once in a while, as I'm driving along, and want to pass (for example), a stumble. No idiot lights come on. Will get it checked out.
