Where to get best deal on a new Cooper S?

Hello

New to the Forum and wanted to buy a new Mini Cooper S. I have a 2009 Z06 Corvette and when I purchased it new I bought it out of state and had it shipped to me for the best deal (several Thousand off MSRP) Are there similar situations on New Minis? Do dealers discount off of MSRP? I am in SoCal but wouldn't be opposed to buying out of state either.

Thanks

Steve

You can get better deals if you find something on the lot. I would have been able to get about $650 off if special ordering. I was able to get $1450 off when I found something on the lot. I didn't pay for the nitrogen or the tape on the doors, etc.

You may be able to get a better deal, especially this weekend with sales at crevier, etc. I bought mine at Irvine through Steve, who was great to work with. They're starting to get ready for new models.

I noticed you can't negotiate as much with these cars as others. Instead of negotiating off invoice, discussions are around msrp. Good luck. I'm loving my car after this 1st month.

Buying something off the lot gives you a little more room for negotiating. If you want to customize your Mini by ordering it, you won't be able to do much haggling. I was out of luck because I was really adamant about the color combo/options I wanted on my MCS (White Silver/white roof/Sport package w/Conical wheels/pano sunroof) and it was impossible to find this combination anywhere. Although, I will say, I did save money by getting the options I wanted and none I didn't want since most of the cars on the lot had options I really didn't want.

I believe I found Pentagon Federal through this website when I bought my car. They have a buying service now. Last time I checked it was about $1000 off list price in Florida. I thinking financing is 1.49% if single payment is not convenient.

I negotiated for my parent's clubman, and did everything via email.
I'm in the Bay Area and there are four Mini dealers here. I just emailed them the custom order sheet PDF from the web site and asked how much off MSRP they could do.

When one offered XXX off, I emailed the others, and they would beat it, and then repeat the process. Worked out great that way, so if you have multiple Mini dealers in your area it's worth trying. It was the easiest process ever and I got a LOT off MSRP that way.
