Rear end swaying, stiffen...

I have an issue with the looseness of the rear suspension. I have adjustable LCAs and a 20mm solid rear sway bar on the stiffest setting. I am also running H&R springs on Koni yellows. It still feels loose. If I am driving in a straight line and I turn the steering briskly left or right, the rear rolls like I have no sway bar? I have checked everything, and all is in good order. Do I need adjustable upper control arms as well? End links? More rear camber? What? I want this thing to stick like my S4 did. Am I asking too much? It handles great otherwise!

Explain "loose"... when I read such, I take it as that your car fishtails out during a cornering maneuver.
Are you experience too much body roll, or not enough feedback through the chassis?

Sounds like you can start with tire pressures. Are the Hancook tires you're on currently a non-run-flat tire?

Hi, sorry. Yes, too much roll. I am on non runflats. I get no response from the rear of the car. It's almost as if it lags behind the front in responsiveness. Like, if I turn quickly, it takes more time for the rear end to follow, if you catch my drift. The tires are not breaking loose.

Have you increased rear tire pressure?
What's your rear toe setting?

No I haven't. Should I? Not sure what the toe setting is. What is good? I don't want to eat the tires up. Is that a trade off?

That's an easy adjustment that can help the vehicle rotate.

Correct, having a slightly aggressive toe setting will eat up tires faster, for trade of a quicker steering response.

Well the car steers great. Its the extra roll in the rear end I can't seem to fix. Will adjustable endlinks help? Upper control arms?

It is the 20mm swaybar that is causing the oversteer. If it is adjustable try the softest setting and see if that cuts down on the oversteer,if not adjustable reinstall the stock swaybar.

If it were me,

I'd adjust the Koni's to just off full SOFT, and set the rear bar to SOFT.

Then I'd drive the car and see what it's like, take notes, drive a familiar road, take notes. Then I'd adjust (1) item, shcoks or the bar, and repeat.

I'm guessing that you have too much roll resistance and couple.

Thanks. The Koni's are about 1/2 turn from soft already. I'll switch the swaybar and see if that helps. And I'm not exactly sure its oversteer as the tires are not breaking loose, its the body roll. I'll post a follow up when I readjust.

Just another note.

The first part of the Koni adjustment range has a FAR greater effect than the last part.

Again, with most aftermarket springs, there just isn't enough spring rate to justify turning the Koni's too stiff. What happens is that the shock won't let the spring rebound. (that's what the Koni adjusts, shock rebound) and the suspension packs down, and takes time to recover.

Again, set the shocks to soft and start from there.
