Mud Flaps (rally armor?)

so winter season is here, and it gets pretty brutal in Boston..so i was thinking about getting some mud flaps to protect the sides of my mini. I searched and found some mini owners getting Rally Armor Universal mud flaps and installing them and from what I've heard, Rally Armor is a trusted brand for mud flaps.

Anybody have the Rally Armor universal mudflaps? Does it fit the mini well? Pics would be extremely appreciated!

Also, if anybody else has other suggestions for mud flaps on minis please feel free to share! Thanks again!

Why not OEM from www.outmotoring.com?

Hey DJ, I was thinking exact same thing. The OEM ones are too expensive, Corey had them installed at the dealership and it was like $300!

I've always liked the Rallyarmor ones on the Subarus and thought they would look sweet on a MINI. Cheap too, $15 to $25 for the universal ones.

You can usually find the OEM ones on Ebay from Morristown MINI's store for around $100 with free shipping. That's where I got mine and it's really the best way to go.

Hopping on board for more info. Was also considering this. Winter in the Northeast can be awful.

FWIW: Just picked up an OEM set of all 4 for my 2012 R56 on eBay from one of the Mini/BMW dealers back east for $70 shipped. Put them on myself in a little over an hour in the driveway. Fronts were easy (no wheel removal needed). The rears require the wheels to come off the car and the mounting needed one hole widened on each mud flap to use the existing clip in place on the 2012 (not in the instructions?), but using that clip makes them automatically level. Didn't need the add-on rectangle piece either, because the side marker light is there.

Sorry I can't help you with the aftermarket ones you refer to...

thanks for the suggestions guys. I was thinking about going OEM, but I figure if i'm going to go with mudflaps I want to get some that are "rally" style.

EcoHeliGuy: Which rally armor mudflaps did you buy? There are a few different types of universal mudflaps. And yes, pics would be very much appreciated!

My $0.02 is get whatever you want, but I dislike the rally armor mudflaps strongly...even on Subarus. They just looked slapped on and out of place.

Pinky Demon: Here is the link for the universal mudflap that have been fitted to some mini's on NAM: http://www.rallyarmor.com/store/univ...ogo-p-267.html

danigurrl, thank you for your feedback. I have never actually seen rally armor mudflaps in person on any car so it's hard for me to gauge exactly how it will fit/look on my car.

Bigprfed22, I think peter was talking about the basic universal flaps, which are about $15-$25. The $100 flaps your talking about are the sturdy Urethane ones I believe, which is what I am interested in getting.
Anyways, let me know how it goes in terms of installation. I'll be anxiously waiting for pics of the finished result!

Those look sweet but an aerodynamic disaster ;-)

Do you have pics of how they are installed? Curious how you mounted them.

I'm sorry...but those mud flaps look as awkwardly placed as a pig's *********. To each their own. Happy holidays! lol

I don't think they look that great either. If I do mudflaps, I think I'll do the OEM's.

Yea. That's a badass car, but I'm afraid I'd live with it being dirty before putting those things on. They look out of place.
