Hi guys,

i recently, well not recently. a couple of months ago i had a CDA air intake installed into my mini cooper s! my workshop told me it was quite good for performance and i had a remus exhaust installed to work together with it.

its quite large and sticks out quite a fair amount (but still sits nicely in my bonnet) i dont know if im the only person here but i dont really like the "sssst" sound it makes as if i have a blowoff valve installed. it happens normally when i accelerate quite hard (4-5000 revs) and release the accelerator.

i dont quite like the sound but i do like the performance enhancement it has given my car. i cant remove it anyway, is there any way i can sort of get rid of the sound? :/ thanks guys!

are all air intake systems like this? do they give the blow offvalve sound?


also, does anyone know if any strut bar (aftermarket or jcw or etc?) will fit into my car with this CDA installed?

 

None of the intakes actually increase performance significantly. If you don't like the noise then your stock intake should go back in. You won't notice a difference.

 

Thats turbo spool and blowoff. The awesomeness of owning a turbo vehicle.

Just remember boost gets you laid.....b****es love boost.
