Will definitely do. I have one contact with a 2011 Cooper S. He's not big on modding, so I won't suggest a WMI kit, but I will get him to buy one of my catch cans, and I'll report on that.

You're more than welcome, any time.

I'm intrigued about the WMI Kits. Thanks for the links and info!

Most of the references I see for carbon build-up are for the MCS. Does anyone know if the Justa suffers from the same tendency for build-up?

If I were to guess I would say yes, but not to the same extent. It is a direct inject engine but does not have the heat buildup that the turbo gets. A SeaFoam treatment might do the trick if you can figure out how to get the stuff into the system on the 2011 refresh engine.

You're very welcome. If you would like any other info, feel free to email me at rennsportracing@gmail.com

For me, if I had my time again, would have been the very first mod I ever did. And I don't do heaps of engine mods, I'm more of a suspension guy.

Will do. What level of experience would you say is needed to install a kit? I need to do some homework. Seems like a big investment, but could pay for itself if you keep the car for the long haul.

Check out this and other Forums about what to encounter. Seems to me that installing the jet initially and then figuring out what jet is best are the hardest parts of the install.

Fortunately Howerton Engineering is in an annual migration path for me and I might just pay him or someone else, like RMW(good Forum) to install the unit

It is a significant investment, and something I would do if I didn't plan on selling the car in the near future.

You don't need much experience to install it, but it is a lengthy install process. Maybe a full day's work. I did mine over two days, maybe 4 hours on one day and 6 on the other. Unlike many things I've done with my R56, I didn't run into any issues.

It's not hard to install the jets, but great care should be taken to be accurate, that's all.

As SMOG said, Jeff Howerton is a great help. Very patient. Also the RMW forums are full of people that have a lot of knowledge regarding the kit.

The R56 N12 engine is not direct injected, and wouldnt suffer from this issue. I think the N16 is, but that would need to be confirmed.

Another thing you can do is run Seafoam through it and then go out and burn the gunk out of it. Your problem may be that you drive like an old lady.
You need to put some hard fast miles at high RPM's on it. Remember, the best shift point is at the red line!!![/QUOTE]

Well, I'm an old lady and I naturally drive fast, say about 85mph on the freeway, if no cop around. But are you really serious regarding the redline?

Along with walnut blasting the valves is the ECU upgrade/re-flash really necessary?
