Moose, Elk and Horses have those long legs and if you hit them fast enough they might go over a MINI. A friend hit a horse in Texas with a 1960 T-Bird Convertible and the carcass of the horse landed in the back seat and that was a longer and taller car. People tend to hit windshields, at least the two friends and family that have hit people on the freeway can attest to.

They look at the car tomorrow. So I'm taking off what I can. I can't remember if accessories/mods were covered. So I'm not taking my chances of losing them lol.

Mythbusters did hitting a moose. They couldn't find a car low and fast enough that it'd go over the car. In all there experiments it was fatal for the occupants.

Absolutely nuts. Glad to hear you're ok after that one. Good luck with the next purchase. Might want to look into Hyundai as another poster mentioned. They have some nice stuff for the price.

The Kia is sweet! Made by Hyundai/Kia group and with turbo is very fun.

2009 Sebring, how uncool is that???? You should have said no or do you have anything else??? At least when my car was totaled I was given a choice and I selected something not much better in a 2009 Altima Hybrid. but then again it was a big improvement from our 2005 saturn ion level 1.

So glad to hear you are ok though man, I totalled my last Mini, its amazing how safe they are.

Were you driving "spiritedly?" I'm assuming you had DSC off?

DSC only goes so far to correct what its driver does. It cant override physics...

Well thank Goodness you are okay. Cars are replaceable.
My Clubbie was only $18,100 after bargaining, they are more affordable I think, than you might be aware. Check into it and dont take list for an answer.

Glad it turned out ok!

True to an extent....but in his situation I believe it would have helped and/or maybe prevented it entirely. The "swerved a little and kept over correcting back and forth until I was done for" is exactly what DSC prevents and where it shines.

Back in the day, I spun my Audi off a road (didn't hit anything luckily...) in the same exact manner and I had ESP off. With it on, it would not have happened (When it happened, I was screwing around to be honest, seeing how much ESP would compensate for any sort of yaw.) Oh how dumb we are as 16 year olds

To this day though, DSC stays on during any sort of canyon run/spirited twisty road drive I go on. There just is not enough room on those types of roads to properly recover if things get ugly (no matter how good of a driver you are)

The clubman has a lower blackbook vs the hatch.every low dollar JCW that i have seen is always a Clubman with 20-30k in miles.

I Test drove a 2005 Acura MDX with 80,000 miles today fully loaded with NAV. Silver and black leather. Was pretty nice. But man. Nothing is like a MINI. Might go on a clubman hunt.

do a nationwide search and buy from a dealer.

When purchasing my jcw I traveled 700 miles.

I would check south florida, very high unemployment means great deals.
