Do your think its worth the money? I've had Haynes Manuals for all my Jeeps and it was definitely a valuable thing to have.

Having owned Bentley manuals for various BMWs that have come and gone in my life, they have been *much* better than the Haynes books.

Absolutely, with a manual you can tear your MINI down to the last nut and bolt.
I have also had Haynes Manuals for every vehicle I've owned.
I've discovered my labor is far cheaper than the dealers, and my mechanical skills, are by far better, than I have ever encountered at the dealer.
I can rebuild almost everything, although I need the wizards who can do the machine work. If I only had a Bridgeport.

Scan 1058 pages, throw it into a .pdf and make it free? Will the "community" kick in to cover his legal costs on a copywriter infringement lawsuit?
Really?

Dude, the manual is $88.17 at Amazon with free shipping.

Don't see it listed on their site. How much are they charging for the book?

Half the problem with the MINI community compared to its JDM counter parts is the lack of open sourced information.

Like our tuning.

I will still be purchasing one.

I believe the e30 bentley manual is available online in a pdf.

I make my DIYs available pursuant to a CCL. Of course, they are not really worth anything. Maybe it's the thought that counts.

I received my Bentley manual today, it is very comprehensive. Compared to a Bentley manual, Haynes manuals are just a pamphlet!

There is a difference between open source information and copyright infringement. If you take a look at the terms of use (available at the bottom of every page) you will see that

  • Posting, providing, transmitting or otherwise making available any materials or information infringing on the rights of a third party,
is expressly prohibited and attempts to violate the copyright of third parties will be met with moderator action. If you have any further questions on this policy please use the Contact Us form.

People posting their own how to's are more than welcome (and strongly encouraged if you've got or are thinking about doing a project soon) and we've got multiple forums set aside for specifically that purpose.

Bentley has been very helpful to many MINI owners and even went so far as to update their book to include post 05 model changes and the Cabrio features when it came to their 1st Gen books, something they don't typically do; influenced largely because of urging of the MINI community. I'm glad to see that the 07+ book has a arrived, I know there's a lot of DIY'ers out there that look to it for help and even more folks that just like to learn about every nut and bolt on the car.

I ordered mine from Amazon back in July, but still hasn't shipped yet. For $88 its a cheap investment. I think I paid $105 for the Bentley manual for my 1988 VW Jetta 16V (back in 1989).

I too, ordered mine from Amazon a couple of months ago and haven't received it. If I remember correctly, they had a September shipping expectation, so it should be soon
