OBDII Tools

What OBD II Scanners does everyone like and why?
I am looking for something that does more than just MINI as I have other vehicles and would like something with a PC interface.
Thanks Gatoor

I really like my Garmin gps unit with Ecoroute ODB II scanner. It will give you gauges (like a coolant temperature) and read codes. It works in most vehicles with a ODB II port and it's a great GPS unit.

I got this on sale for $89. Store flyer not on-line.

http://www.harborfreight.com/can-obd...ner-98614.html

Has live data stream and can be connected to a PC (USB) to download data. (Not live to a PC).

Note that all cars made since about the mid 90's are OBD II compliant and any OBD II reader will work on any OBD II car though some have more functions than others.

Before that there was OBD I which required a different units and connectors for Ford and GM etc. You can get combo readers that can do both OBD I (Ford and GM) and OBD II but they are like $200-$300.

Yep...getta' Garmin (there's a song in there somewhere!!) I have the 1390LMT for Molly and bought my Husband the 1490LMT for his '10 Kia Soul Shadow Dragon SE3 "SMAUG", I also bought each of us the Eco Route HD Connector. Molly threw a CEL last night on the way home, I didn't want to pull over to get my gps out so I waited 'til I got home...now I know why I bought this thing!! I also turned my Brother on to it, I'm always trying to "one up" him and I FINALLY dit it!!

I use a CarChip Pro to track my mileage. It plugs into the OBDII port and your computer via a USB cable. The device also records and display trouble codes. I have used it only once for diagnostic purposes.

I have the Actron CP 9580 http://www.amazon.com/Actron-CP9580-.../dp/B003IOITRG
This model records live data, as well as graphs it, which is very helpful! Another feature of this code reader is that it will show the "freeze frame"* data. It will also print this data for future reference as well as reset the CEL should you decide to do so.

* Freeze frame data is a snapshot of the real-time sensor feeds at the instant of a DTC condition. An auto mechanic can use this data to figure out what was going on at the time your car's "check engine" light went on.This is a feature of the vehicle's OBDII computer.

Which Bluetooth OBD

I'm experiencing some stuttering on my 2009 R56. Everything I've read thus far it would appear to be a malfunctioning coil. I want (have always wanted to) get an OBDII reader. I have an app for my Windows phone (OBD Auto Doctor - by Creosys Ltd) and was wondering if anyone else is using this Bluetooth model (BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool )
Amazon.com: BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices: Automotive Amazon.com: BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices: Automotive

Any help appreciated!
