New MCS owner - couple of questions!

Hi folks!

Just got my 2011 PW MCSa a month back and I must say, i'm loving it loads. Its simply fun to drive and I couldn't resist taking it up to 150km/h (93mph) on a clear highway of course

Just a couple of quick questions as I'm still pretty new to the car itself:
1. At which rpm does the turbocharger for the MCS start spooling?
2. This might be somewhat related to the first question. I've noticed that each time I rev up beyond 1800 rpm, there's a odd vibrating sound coming from the car itself (i'm not entirely sure where, but i reckon its from the front of the car). As the revs climb beyond 2000 rpm, the sound goes away. Its as though the vibrating sound only occurs between the 1800-2000 rpm range. The sound is most audible when in D and in 2nd/3rd gear.
I've tested the occurrence of this sound by putting the car into 'N' and revving it up, I was also able to replicate the vibrating sound at the above mentioned rpm range. Does anyone know what this sound might be? Some loose part? Turbocharger? Engine mounts giving way?
3. Following a gear change from say 2nd to 3rd gear, the revs naturally drop slightly. However, I've noticed a minor vibration as the revs climb back up, is this normal?
4. Does the MCS use a DV or a BOV? I've never really heard any atmospheric release sounds...?

Thanks for the answers!
Happy motoring!

The rpm will vary somewhat, when the turbo is spinning at a rotational velocity to produce noticeable boost, it is spooled, so it will start spooling when you see vacuum decrease and psi increase. A boost guage will show this.
As to your vibrations ? something may be loose.
MINI's use a DV. Good luck.
