2011 MCS - What New Windshield Already?

So I'm on my way to work a couple of weeks ago and as I get on the freeway I get behind a truck that has a logo on the back that reads "Rock Masters". In the milla-seconds it took me to realize I was doomed for a rock chip, here it came... A big rock bounces out of that truck about the size of a quarter. Although I tried to miss it, no luck, it hit right in my line of sight on the drivers side.

Although I attempted to have the chip and crack lines fixed, I couldn't drive my mini without my eyes fixating on the chip - it was driving me crazy. So I had all I could take and had my local Safelite dealer order an OEM winshield (had to have the mini logo in the corner of the window )

Picture below of the procedure. Good as new again!!! How long will it be now until the next rock chip? Um, don't answer that, you'll jinx me!

My '11 MCS has multiple chips and cracks due to the fact that I drive the Ortega Hwy., 29 miles of rock-encrusted canyon road, to work every day and back. I have a clear bra on the front of the car including the entire hood so it is pristine. The windshield takes all the abuse and I figure I'll be replacing it within the next few months.

My Car is about 3 weeks Old and I have a couple of chips.
Was gonna have one of them fixed from a buddy's friend that owns a Glass repair/replace shop and he said it's not bad enough to fix.
It's just very annoying knowing it's there.

Got a few good chips on mine as well in the 3 months I've had the car. Sick of New England roads and the construction sites thats seem to be at a standstill.

I realize we have practically the same car, but man is that a good-looking car!

Believe it or not, but I got a rock chip on the passenger side literally 10 minutes after leaving the dealership Friday with my new 2011 Cooper!! Got it fixed Saturday, but you can still see the impact dot and where the epoxy filled in the crack (It was an 'Eagle' chip). I'm not too worried about it, but it's so annoying! My 2006 only got one rock chip the 5 years I drove it - ironically enough, that rock chip happened 2 years to the day of the one Friday! I think rock chips are a way of life with MINIs. You put up with them as long as you can before replacing the windshield...
