My sunroof creaks horribly, especially with flex (uneven bumps). No rattles, just creaking! I left the car with the dealer yesterday, so we'll see if they fix it. I have a feeling it's something with the mesh shades. Happens whether the actual roof is open or closed.

 

Did they made the 2011 sunroofs open with one-touch of the switch, or do you have to hold it down like my 2008?

It does not open fully w/ one touch. It will open to vent with one touch, Back ends of both sunroofs are up. To open full, or to close, you need to hold the switch.

 

No rattles or creaks whatsoever at 3500 miles. My 05 was a rattle trap all around.

I love that I can keep it vented open even in the rain up here. Also, thank you, MINI, for tinting the sunroof- lovely improvement.

I also agree that the sunroof is one of the best features of the MINI. It "joys" up the entire interior of the car and is stone silent when it's closed.

I have no rattles open or closed. I agree with others, the sunroof was essential for me too and one of my favorite options esp at night with the ambience lighting. I feel like I should be at a disco.

 

Interesting. I noticed a weird sound for the first time today. A crystal-clear click/pop sound (kind of like firmly tapping a hard plastic cup on one of the glass windows). It was tough to pinpoint the location, but seemed to come from upper rear passenger side (2011 Clubman S with the HK system).

Sunroof was closed, but I did open and close it while troubleshooting and trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. After doing so, and turning off the radio for a while, it never happened again. Pretty freaky.

Do you have the HK system?
