Programming the remote functions

I thought there was a way to program how the MINI reacts when you hit the lock/unlock buttons on the remote keyless entry -- as in you can make it either beep or have the lights flash (or possibly both) -- but I can't seem to figure it out or find it in the owners manual.

Am I wrong about this function?

I'm sure the 2011s are the same, but 07-09's only beeps if you have a factory alarm. You can find the settings in the BC by clicking the end of the left stalk and scrolling through the options.

Yes, it does...

work on my 2010 S as you are thinking. Per the first response, I do have the factory alarm option, and I don't recall if that enters into it. When I set it up, I followed the manual instructions.

I don't have the alarm, so maybe that's why I can't figure out how to get mine to beep.

No alarm, no beep. I wish it had it too. I also wish the remote had more range.

Dump the beep!

So I have the factory alarm om my 2007 MCS, my 2011 loaner (no beep!) is so soothing - so I can program out the beep?

(never read manual - if it's not intuitive I won't do it)

I stumbled into it the other day... click then click and hold the remote... it toggles sound on off. Obviously just holding open/close buttons drops/raises windows etc. I accidentally killed the beep and stood there for about 5 minutes trying to figure it out. (this is if you have a factory alarm)

or "lock" as i am locking?

BTW following manual instructions (headlight column) did not work
