I just tinted my pana roof windows and I wanted to know if anyone has had a problem with the glass cracking do to heat. I read over a few old post about it and no one seems to have a problem with this but I m just checking. I added limo (about 3-5% depending on the cop fining you the ticket tested that day ) pleas let me know thanks.

 

I don't think there is a legal limit on roof tint. You can paint your roof glass for all the authorities care. It's your side windows that matter... and unless your glass cracked, I've never heard of such a thing.

 

No sorry the limit thing was about my front windows I have had a few tickets and every time the % changes.

 

I have heard of other cars with shattered or cracked sunroof issues, but none so far on a MINI. Mine are 15% and no issues.

 

I think I just read the same post. Seems those were last discussed in 2008. Unless there is a newer post, I think the found the problem with their manufacture and quietly resolved the issue.

FYI, I was going to get the ZipperShade thing, but I think I'd rather tint the rear sunroof to the darkest of 5% and maybe 40% something for the front one.
