Mod friendly dealers in SoCal
Hey everyone...is there a mod friendly dealer in SoCal? Apparently South Bay Bmw are not anymore. 45k on the car and still under warranty with the extended maintenance program and they want to charge me $2,228 to check my clutch cause I have an aftermarket product (which is just and occ). And they also want to charge an extra $448 to remove the occ to check for engine problems WTF!!!!!!!

Heck they used to sell modded MINI's....
That is illegal. The OCC can't not effect a clutch. The law states that clearly.

Basically, they need to prove a mod actually caused the issue, or they are prohibited from denying waranty

Ya I don't know why I would be charged $2200 to get it looked at then an additional$ 228 for parts if needed and on top of that im still clearly under warranty. And to get my engine checked out they are charging $448 to remove my catch can?
A mod friendly dearer in Cali,
, Sorry I couldnt help it. Im in the same boat. Your best hope is the dealer you bought it from. But yep, you have to take all aftermarket parts off when you take it in to the dealer. I just did this, and they still saw the parts of my water injection system, but they were nice still. Bob Smith Mini, but it all depends who your advisor is and how you guys get along.

I would also say give Mini of Ontario a try. I went in for 2nd year service and was very pleased with the whole experience and I did not buy my Mini there. I have a 2009 factory JCW and it had a catch can and Helix I/C and NM hot & cold side tube and lowered 2inches on coilovers when Mini of Ontario serviced it and the only comment I got was your car looks nice. BTW Mini of Ontario did everything that was scheduled to be done and everyting I asked to done and best of all did not do what I ask to not be done.(no wash & no ECU upgrades) Good luck where ever you get you service and let us know how things turn out.

Irvine Mini is mod friendly. I just picked up my car today for some warranty work. There was a clunk noise when I take off from 1st & when I shift to second and I had them check the timing chain for the death rattle. They kept the car overnight an gave me a loaner for 2 days while the car was in the shop. They fixed the clunk noise, check the timing chain & did an inspection all for free because the car is still under warranty. I noticed they commented on my work order that my car was modded w/ aftermarket suspension, air filter, brake lines & brakes. They also inspected the car & fluids without me asking & topped off my oil because I was 5/8 quart low. I don't know where you're located but you should definitely give them a try.
P.S. I did not buy my car from them either.

Hmmmmm...ya I originally took my car in because im having boost issues with the car and its very jerky from 1rst-3rd and also feel like my clutch is slipping. They told me there is a vacuum leak and can not source it unless they remove the catch can and boost tap and are charging me $448 for it. And in order to check out my clutch they need to open up the tranny and are charging $2228 just to check it??? Can someone please explain the reason of taking my money =p.....I now have to remove the can and boost tap and put it back to stock for them just so they can check it out....what type of service is that =( they were never like that before....anyone know if they are under new management?
Is there anyway to get my money back for the extended maintenance since im still under my 50k standard warranty? Car is an 07 coop S? Don't the think the cost of the extended maintenance does justice =(
