Stock Exhaust Tips

Does anyone know what the different stock exhaust tips are for a 2010 MCS?

The reason I'm asking... my car's exhaust tips had to be replaced, and even though the parts were ordered by VIN, the ones that arrived look different. The new ones are thin and have some cheesy engraved pattern on them. The ones that came with my car originally were fatter and smooth (no engraved pattern).

How can I get the ones that originally came with the car?

The "engraved" tips are the $214 optional S tips, as shown here on eBay. I have a standard "beer can" set in the boxes the optionals came in, only ran a couple weeks last Summer while waiting for the optionals to come in at the dealer. PM me an offer, PayPal the funds, and they are on the way to you.

A little off topic and I've asked before but only got one answer so... I get a good bit of carbon build up on my tips. My 2011 MCS has 1400 miles. Is this normal? I've never had this much on any other car.

Well thanks MCS Fever - I will let you know if I decide to swap these out. I think part of the reason the new ones looked so different to me is they were hanging about 5 inches lower than where they should be. The body shop is working on it.

I think that's normal. Part of my washing ritual includes the inside part of the tips. The soot washes off easily with a soapy rag.

I love the "beer can" tips! I'm going to have my favorite beer logo engraved on mine!

Really the standard S beer can tips and the "engraved" ones are pretty much identical less the engraving, not worth the $214 option.

I think it's the oil these things burn that blacken the tips - our exhaust must be pretty well lubed on the insides.........
