MOTOR swap

Hi, I have a mini with blown engine due to oil pump chain snapping 113k . Its a 07 mcs manual.

Im trying to find a wrecked one for reasonable price so i can swap engines, my question is, that there is alot more automatics than manual going for cheap.

Will a manual transmission bolt up to a auto motor.

Thanks.
sam.

I can't say for sure but generally, you normally can bolt up an auto motor (short block) to any transmission.

I doubt they have different blocks but the only way to verify is like online part numbers or the dealership.

Good luck.

You'll have to use your flywheel, and you'll probably need to install a new pilot bushing/bearing in the crankshaft. However, there may be other differences - oil cooler for the trans for instance - but if you're just buying a long block (block, head and internal components only) then the two things I mentioned should do it.

Good luck....and let us know what you find out, OK?

did you junk the block? it might be cheaper to get yours rebuilt if it it's not a total right off.
