Is there a Jack incl. w/ 2011 MCS?

Does the 2011 MCS hardtop come with a jack? If so, where is it located? I just ordered my MCS and was wondering, since my 2005 had it in the boot but i didn't recall seeing one in the boot of the 2011 when at the dealer, Thanks

Under the floor in the tool well, perhaps? That's where it is in my 2010.

Cheers,

You may need to ask your dealer. I've read from some new 2011 owners that the kit isn't included anymore but some have been demanding it and getting it.

I had to strongly suggest that one be provided to me for my 2009 MCS. It came without one.

I've had three 2011 loaners and they all had the jack kit.

I still don't understand why you would want a jack if you have no spare.

You can raise a whole side with your jack and rotate your tires fore and aft.

Yes my 2011 JCW did come with one. Law requires it for safety in the USA.
I pulled mine out of my trade just in case mine didn't come with it. I got a call looking for it from my dealer 2 day later. Its like 300 or 400 for the kit!

TCCOX- Heading your way in early Feb. Phil Wicks Mini Driving school in his race car for 2 days at Carolina Motorpark in SC. Looking forward to it. 2 days one on one with Phil! Very excited to race. Starting out in his race car with a conservative set up and will change the camber plates depending on progress. At least until yo can't catch it rotating any more . Should be fun.

I guess...If I am rotating them I am either on a lift or using a real floor jack and stands in my driveway/carport. I guess I never took the idea of jacking the car up and abandoning it to get the tire repaired/replaced. I carry a plug kit with me so no leaving my little car behind.

Bottom line is, if my 2011 MCS is supposed to come with it, then I want to make sure I get it. I want everything that is "supposed" to come with my car.

Directional tires... Can only be rotated front to back, back to front. Since the included jack will lift both tires on one side enough to remove, there really isn't so much the need to invest in stands, but if that's your thing... I was just saying.

Wouldn't you want to jack it up and get the tire off to perform the repair?

Cost depends on what you are driving. I think it is like $350 a day in your own car. He has a modded S he rents and also has a Mini Challange race car.
It was a national champion car as it won the series. I think it is for sale for 25K. Older SC race car as he want a new version now. My 2 day class renting his race car and ono on one training with Phil was like $1600 total. It is $650 a day in the $800 race car and $350 for your own car with instruction. Both track and class room. I am going Feb. 5th and 6th. If you do not have proper helmet they went them. I am bringing my Kelvar spring snowmobile helmet. Looks more moto cross but it is light weight. Also If I am going to wear a helment I am going to wear full face.

I heard the same thing from my MA when I got my '03 MCS in '02. When I traded in my '03 MCS for a BMW 1 series with run flats I did not get a jack with the Bimmer. I just got a 2011 MCS about a month ago and it has a jack.

Maybe it's just something that MINI does and BMW doesn't?

I totally agree with that, I was just questioning why MINI even includes it as I personally don't see the use. But, if you paid for it you better get it.

I never do, roll the car to where the puncture is seen and pull the object out, insert the reaming device to ensure the plug will fit, lube plug and shove it in, re inflate. I have done this over a dozen times myself so it gets pretty easy and quick.

Are you sure? If so that's a recent law - my '07 M Coupe has no jack (and no runflats either) - just a goo-n-pump kit. My '04 .:R32 was exactly the same story.

Note to OP: the jack that comes with our cars is VERY lame. You'll find higher quality stuff at (gasp) Harbor Freight. I used it to swap my tires/wheels, on smooth, level ground in my garage, and the thing still scared the crap out of me. Be careful if you use that thing!

Thanks. Never had to do it myself. Glad to know it can be done that way.
