R56 The Official Eclipse Gray Owners Club
Thanks...
Yah the black rims do really look good. Tired everything in together on the car.
I think I am leaning toward the grey...at least in my mind it will look Sharp :-)
Thanks for the NM Engineering info...they had not come up on my search for MINI rims at all

My new S
Hello everyone,
Brother from across the pond here, mainland UK.
I saw this website while searching on my new Mini and some of the pictures in here were great in helping me to decide what I wanted. So I thought I would come and say Hi and show you what I have.
I was originally going to splash out on the new '14 model, Red Cooper S with white viper stripes, but due to cash constraints ended up going for a 12 month old ex demo model. I fell in love with it on the first drive, it has all the bells and whistles (heated seats, sat nav, media pack, cruise control, leather interior, JCW body work) and only 8,000 miles on the clock.
Eclipse Grey was never a colour I imagined having, I had a Red Mini One originally, upgraded to a Blue Mini Cooper and loved the red so much I figured I would get a Red Cooper S. I must say though, when I saw how shiny it was and how sleek it looked, I knew I would be happy with it.
I wanted to add some after market...something... to it, to show that its mine and not everybody elses, but it took a long time to deceide on what. I was thinking just bonnet stripes with red/white highlights, then red or white full stripes but didn't think the colour would go very well. I was really struggling on what to have then I saw a picture on this forum of a EC mini with grey stripes front to back, then a thin red stripe either side. I was like YES, YES, that is what I want! I can't find the actual topic anymore and forgot who posted the picture, I think they designed it themselves in Photoshop, but whoever that was, thank you! I sent it to my dealer and he said he will see what he can do.
This is the car I saw on here, though it had grey stripes on - I wanted to see what it would look like with Black, so I (very poorly) colourd the grey stripes in black. The final outcome is quite offensive compared to the original posters, so I am sorry, but I hope you will forgive me :p

This is the car I saw at the dealership

After a week, I took my Blue mini in to swap it over the new Grey one, and I was stunned by what I saw.

I just picked my Eclipse Gray Mini Cooper S last Thursday. I live in Northern Maine and once the snow stops flying and things clear up bit I'll post a few pics.
It is eclipse gray with black roof and mirrors. Conical spoke wheels in silver. I had an electric blue and black 2004 MCS. It was totaled due to an accident with a driver texting. Please pay attention out there.

new eclips owner
congratulations . I bought mine 2 years ago and still haven't posted a pic yet . Sad because it doesn't look a thing like it did when I first bought it . And I told friends I wasnt going to mod this car . That lasted for 2 months then.....
Still not as clean as I would like but here are some photos of my new Office/Transport/Playground!
One thing I would love to do is change the gauge rings on the interior. The Tach has a very nice black ring, but all of the other gauges, vents and cup holder rings are silver. I would love for them to match the tach ring. A little detail...

I couldn't stand that too so the tach ring was my first mod . Some spray paint and masking tape from Ace Hardware and 30 minutes later...matching gauge bezel . I found the tach removal info on utube . So easy .
The tach ring on mine is black and I love it, the problem for me is the other round highlights in the car are all silver. The speedo, cup holders, shifter, speakers and vents are all silver and I would love to black them out.
I have read they don't pop off easily and many of the silver rings are bonded in place.
I know it is a small detail but thats what is so fun about these cars! Customizing them.

Calico Jack has all that too, except the carbon gear shift and e-brake handle, (including the red stitched JCW GP2 steering wheel) and we love it! Overall, the stitching simple, but really is elegant.
