Maggie's newest trick.

Last week, I discovered that my 10 R56 JCW had a new trick that I don't remember reading about in the owner's manual. The long story is over here, however, I have found out that if I press and hold the open button on the key fob for about five seconds, not only will both doors unlock but both windows will roll down and the sunroof will tilt. I remember this being a dealer programmable option for the R53s but was this true for the R56s, too? Or is Maggie "special"? I just rescanned the OM but didn't come up with anything, nor am I really worried about it. I'm just glad that she didn't try showing me the trick 24 hours earlier when the heavy rains were beating down the east coast!!

Cheers!!

Maggie may be special but I believe this is standard behavior. Our '10 MCCS does this as well - it is very useful on a hot day.

It's a standard thing, but very useful. Too bad you can't close the windows/sunroof remotely as well, but if you lock the doors using the actual key in the door handle and continue to hold the key in the lock position for a few seconds the windows will roll up and sunroof shuts.

Standard on my 2003 Cooper....and my sons 2004 Cooper S....and the roof actually went all the way open on them...unlike my 2010 Clubman.

The closing option is taken out of US cars, it is a code-able option that can be enabled in NCS Expert, I just haven't had a chance to do it yet. I'll post back when I do.

I figured as much. BMW's that are bound for the US have several dealer programmable features disabled - sounds like Mini's are the same way.

Definately post back when you have this done. It would be really nice to walk away from the car and be able to close & lock everything simply by pushing a button.
