You have done so well with this one -- follow your heart.

But my opinion is that the little car gets too "busy" with stripes. It can stand on its own either way.

I'd almost like to have you disassemble ours and put it back together with the kind of care and workmanship this project has shown us. I think it would be a better car -- and its pretty good now.

No stripes.

And that reminds me, it's October already and I need to get a pumpkin. Have you ever seen a pumpkin with stripes?

Orange in a car like this is a pretty aggressive look anyway. You've used the black on the scoop and mirrors which looks awesome. So far you've gotten a 50/50 feedback.Go with your instincts (although I like the look without BTW)

I like stripes a lot, but I think in your case it looks better without. The black scoop looks really killer (I hope you decide against painting it body color!), but viper stripes on top of those would be too much.

Your MINI is a real looker as is. Leave it without stripes for now. They can be easily added at a later time if you choose to.

I would leave it as is. It looks great with the black hood scoop.

The Great Pumpkin lives....

I'd do some offset black stripes.

I think you've got just the right amount of black on there now. I'd leave the stripes off.

Stripes off.

All depends on what kind of a look you are going for. If I would have to put some stickers on it or whatever I would do something that makes it look like it has some movement. See my Gallery, there is a Spicy Orange Cooper with a Mini Tattoo there. I am not saying that you should make it look exactly like that. I am saying that I would do something unexpected and non symmetrical that is still stylish, but grown up, and place the decals in a similar way as with the Spicy Orange Coop. I would do something that hasn't been sen before, meaning go with customized prints (with the custom paint job). Get a friend to do you some Photoshop:ing, before committing.

That said, I still think the car looks great as it is, but it feels like something is missing (not the stripes though).

You've probably heard about this one already, but I thought I'd mention it since they have a great gallery on their site about customized prints. http://aestheticreations.net/

That is EXACTLY my thought... I feel the car is lacking something. I'm trying not to go the symmetrical stripe setup... I'm looking more for a European race car look but haven't found anything yet.

The closest thing I have found is this.

Though it would be symmetrical from side to side, it still has a Euro look to it... IMO.

I've been actually looking at two different stripes (see above pic) and this one.

My thought on the Challenge setup is to do the stripes in black and clear and then REVERSE them from side to side so the number plate is in front of the rear tire instead of behind the front tire.

Like this look. It's different and goes with all the work you have done .

I know you didn't ask but I think a body color scoop; keep the mirrors black. I've been looking at that last picture you have posted on your rebuild thread and above and the scoop seem out of place. In general, the comments lean to no stripe but with a body colored scoop that might change. Maybe something subtle like a lightening bolt Maybe you could see if someone like Aestheticreations would do a PhotoShop of your car so you don't have to paint it over and over again

I usually like stripes, but, for some reason, think they would be one step too far on what's now a great look - maybe because there are already large masses of black (rims kinda tip the balance for me).

The only thing I've been wondering about is black headlight rings.

I kinda like the upward slanted stripes, but I'd want'em in paint that was polished out and clearcoated so that there is no "feel" to the stripe on the body. I don't like stick on stuff.

The other thing I've kinda wondered about is how it would look with the wheel centers done in body color.

I just came across your answer...sorry.

Man, that color is awesome. I actually sprayed out some spray out cards... it was a toss up between the orange and green.

I really like the Joey mod, I wonder if someone could photochop my lights with it.

Might have to do it.

Thanks for the pic.
