Bought a 2009 cooper S last August. When I filled in gas tonight, I noticed tiny paint chipped off in the round circle where gas cap is.

Is this under warranty? If not, do you know how much it should cost if i bring it to dealer or is it a very easy quick fix?

How tiny is tiny? Any pictures? Paint chips aren't going to be under warranty unless it's corroded.

If it's small enough you could go to a website like expresspaint.com and get a touch up pen and fix it yourself.

 

Are you talking about the drain hole on the bottom? I know that quite a few people have gone to my local dealer claiming a chip in the paint and it's actually the drain hole on the bottom.

 

if you placed a clock in the hole where the gas cap is, the tiny paint chip i am referring to would be just below "6 o clock"...Is it the drain hole? If so, never noticed the tiny chip there before till a couple of days ago.

 

Yep...that is it. It is actually a drain hole and not a chip.
