R56 No more LSD option?
I have an 09 MCS with LSD. I also just had the front brakes done, at 10,900 miles. If my MINI was equipped with DSC they would have lasted even less.
During times when my brakes were at the limit, instead of being able to cool between brake zones, the DSC would have been maintaining higher pad temps as it feathered them on automatically. That would have sucked.

DSC predominantly works in turns not straights.
Also with DSC can be turned off.
