Need help!

Ordering a new MCS soon and can't decide between 3 color combos and wheel colors? Getting Sport Pkg with choice of wheel colors. I also want 2 center "Viper" stripes.

Red with white top
Dark silver with black top
Pepper white with black top

Silver, black, or white wheels?

Black or white stripes?

Thanks!

You have to decide for yourself. It doesn't make any difference what other people like or what is popular. Break-out from the crowd.

Just fyi, I see tons of red/white where I live. I like the color combo but seems like everyone has it. I strongly considered all three of your combos but decided that dark silver / black worked best for me.

You might want to also consider the new Horizon Blue. It looks great with a black roof and bet it looks good with white roof as well.

Good luck and don't second guess your color choice after your order.

I totally agree. My problem is I really like all 3 combos and could easily live with either! I had a white/black MCS and it was great at hiding dust and dirt between car washes. I want to dry a different color combo this time so white/ black is off my list. I am leaning towards red/white with white or black wheels. I might go with the black wheels just because it is a little different.

Thanks!

Your dark silver/black looks great!!! Is the combo hot in the summer and how does dust and dirt show between car washes?

Thanks. I really don't notice any issues in the summer to be perfectly honest. I think it is fine.

The color does a pretty good job of hiding the dirt/dust as well. I thought it might show more dirt but it is really good from that respect. The only issue I really have is the boot after a good rain but I think every R56 has this issue if not every BMW MINI.

BTW, I believe you mentioned black wheels. To me, black wheels always look dirty but they do look good on a lot of cars.

Good luck.

Dark Silver & Black of course. Bet you can't guess why, LoL. It do get a tad warm when parked in the sun, but there's a sure fire cure: Put the windows and your right foot DOWN!!

I'm on my second Cooper. (First was an '03 S Indi Blue/White white hood stripes w/blue/black leather. New one is a '10 S Pepper white/Body color roof white hood stripes, black lounge leather w/white piping.)

I understand your difficulty in choosing a color combo as I too could have lived with any one of 3 color combo's.

For me, I ran into the same problem in '10 as I did in '03 which was what does MINI offer with interior choices with specific colors.

The first time around, I chose Indi Blue because I wanted the blue/black interior, so I "painted" the car from the inside-out.

This time, there were some colors that didn't work with the interior color choices for me.

Personally, I could care less whether I had the same color as 100 other people in my area, or as in my case, whether anyone else liked it at all. The salesman said to me: "Do you REALLY want white stripes on a Pepper White car?" I was buying the car, not him.

As for choosing a color that "everyone else" has...despite their popularity, does anyone really run into that many Coopers on a daily basis? Here in CT, in the better weather, I maybe see 3 a day TOPS and that isn't usual.

I thought about a white/white with silver "Viper" stripes with my first MCS!

You are going to love white. It's very easy to keep up, paint swirls and light dust does not show. I think the monochromatic look of your white top, body, and stripes will be cool! What did you decide on for the wheels? When do you get it? You need to post a picture once you get it!

I can understand about working from the inside out for color selection. My last Pepper White MCS had piano black and black punched leather interior. Any exterior color worked with that. I really want to have the English Oak interior trim this time. Not a problem with the dark silver body, it's just darker colors need more work to keep them looking great. I am not sure about English Oak, Black Punched Leather and Chili Red? I am planning on another trip to the dealer to see the English Oak and Chili Red in person once more. I wonder if they have a pepper white on pepper white also?

Red black and black wheels.

I really can't see anybody wanting white wheels. They will always look like crap with brake dust galor.

Oh, I've been wanting to get white wheels for my MINI. Just can't decide on what I want or manage to save up the money for it.

My 2007 MCS showed tons of brake dust on silver wheels. I don't know if white would be any worst with factory pads? Too bad gray or graphite is not a option.

Picking a color is a tough choice ...i went around in circles and probably saved about 23 color combinations on the MINIUSA site before I drove myself crazy. I had to finally just pick a color knowing that whatever I chose I'd love. You'll always find other colors and combinations that you wished you chose, ...wanting is a stronger desire than having.

I got to pick the colors of my first two MINIs but not for the one I have now. PW/B combination was the only one on the lot with anything close to the options I wanted. My problems with the black roof are trying to keep it clean and the extra heat but it looks so good with the black bonnet stripes and black 17" crown spokes. You can't go wrong with any of those combinations.

Chili Red and White roof and viper stripes. Why do you see so many MINI's with this combination? Because it's the best choice!

May I suggest another combination?

Green with green top and white viper stripes all the way down the car. Then get a rosewood interior and go full British . That was my combination if I had ended up purchasing new rather than used. I don't think i've ever seen it before either.

I have a dark silver with a black top and don't think black stripes look good on this color combo. They don't stand out enough from the dark silver paint. Red/white is too common and is a little feminine for my tastes. You'll look like a candy cane .

If you're dead set on your color combos and viper stripes I think the white/black combo with black stripes will be the best. The stripes will stand out perfectly and white is always a classy color.

In terms of wheels, I always like either silver or gold. Black wheels don't make much sense to me and always look off due to the contrast of the shiny black wheel and the dull black tire. White is just a big no-no.

In the end, get what you think looks good to you

How about light silver with a very thin red outline for the viper stripes on a dark silver and black? A friend has that color stripe on his dark silver Elise and it looks great.
