Wow, that chunky old codger who runs EVTV is none other than Jack Rickard, who ran a magazine called Boardwatch back in the day, that followed the BBS community.. which quickly became extinct with the rise of the internet.

We are doing conversions and filming them in some detail to show others how to convert their "dream car" into electric drive. Our first conversion was actually a Beck replica of the 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster. We did pretty well with that at an 85 mile safe range and a 95 mph top speed.
As mentioned, we are currently in the final throes of converting a 2009 Mini Cooper Clubman to electric drive. This is a little more challenging. As you all know, getting info from BMW is essentially impossible, they won't even tell their dealers most of what we need to know. So it's been a trip. This unit will feature a 38kWh battery pack, a 177 ft-lb AC motor, and our mission is to seriously outperform the BMW Mini-E while actually achieving their advertised range of 150 miles. Of course, we're using the Clubman which has more room for batteries than the S coupe.
We call it Mini-Me.
A few of our videos might be of more general interest to you all. For example, we did one on replacing the front disk brakes with Bembro Gran Turisimos that you might find interesting here. Not much electrical work there.
But we did have to remove the drive shafts, remove the front clip, and pull the engine and transmission as part of the process. What we put BACK probably won't match your car though.
In any event, thank you for the very kind mention here on NAM.
Warmest regards;
Jack Rickard

PS. Yes, the "chunky old codger" used to publish Boardwatch Magazine. It was originally about bulletin board systems but grew into the monthly trade magazine for Internet Service Providers - "back in the day". And yes, that was 65 lbs ago.
Today we do a magazine, but it is HD video instead of print, distributed through Amazon's Cloudnet worldwide instead of at Software Etc. and airport newsstands, and about electric cars instead of the Internet. Otherwise, not much has changed....
