Sorry to hear about your accident, actually $3400 doesn't sound totally out of line in this day and age.

No, not really when you consider the rule of thumb is 250 per panel to paint. You've got a hood (which is more like 500) two doors, a bumper, there's 1250 just for paint.

Add labor, 700 for a hood, it doesn't take long to get 2-3K out of it...

Parts is whats killing me. A/C condensor, radiator, hood, and fix the bumper plus labor

Porthos,
Sorry to hear about the accident. Didn't read anything about injuries, so I assume there weren't any, which is great! Have they said how long you will be MINI-less?

Talked to the shop today, I should be my MINI as early as the beginning of next week. Also, I trade the pickup for a sleeper Galant.

I just got 2 estimates to repair the damage from a very low speed parking lot snowy bump... New bumper cover, repair hood, stripes, clear bra, at $1500 and $1700...

At 15F bumper covers crack, not flex.

Had to replace the hood on mine when I hit a deer. When the work was "finished" I had to go a couple rounds with the body shop due to some alignment/gap issues. Turned out one of the hood hinges had to be replaced.

Ya found out they are also painting one of the fenders. It got scratched when the hood backed into it.
