I took my vent completely out, way cooler, and added a deflector for a percentage of the air to go down and some to the rear. The amount of air coming in through this size opening I don't see as being able to increase the air pressure zone behind the radiator.....it's mostly all sucked out the bottom of the engine area, and the size of the radiator area and "FAN" are greater that the intake, I guess may if you were going 200mph it may make a difference but as the speed increase the low pressure area behind the air damn and bottom of the engine increases also, sucking more air out.
That's my two cents worth of aerodynamic engineering!!!

BTW, if you're looking at detectors, take a serious look at the Valentine One. Not cheap, but you get 360 degree protection and much more detailed info re: signal strength, location and number. I had mine hardwired into the A pillar so the cord comes out right where I mount the detector on the sun visor.
I almost went to the M7 AGS-R Cold air intake until I watched the heat come out of the scoop when I had shut down the engine after a road trip. I decided that the Super AGS was a better route.

Given the number of melted scoops, I don't think I'd put anything made of plastic or sensitive electronics in there.

+1 on the Valentine found a forum where they tapped power above the rear view mirror so mine sits in front of the visor behind the tint strip. Also being able to turn off the X band alerts was a very nice feature.
Viola! Not much to see, but that was the point. I didn't do it myself...didn't think of the power source in the mirror pod. I went to Al & Ed's, and had them wire the existing cigarette lighter adapter to the car's 12-volt feed behind the center stack and run the wire up the a pillar with about 4" of extra wire sticking out. Cost me $125, and well worth it.

I'm surprised nobody posted this:

i saw that some where but i got a strut brace so it wont work... what i was wondering is what the material is made of under the hood? is it going to melt or get warpped? any thoughts?... i guess you could always get my heal sheild and use that too..hhhmmmm
Looks like the M7 version allows both a heat shield and a strut bar.

But I still like M7's design. Their parts have a certain aesthetic appeal to them. And this one may help the hood scoop become functional.
