I guess I'll never get the 2 minutes back I just took to read this thread. But I should chime in that I think BoxedUp's reply was pretty good advice.

And now I'll need another 15 seconds to unsubscribe from this thread.

Yeah with his comments above, he doesn't deserve to have a MINI. Probably one of those straight faced Il Bastardos that doesnt make eye contact when I waive!!!!!!

Ha, this is hilarious, what a backfire!

Damn, it sounds like a Teabagger's or Birther's convention.

Maybe the dealership put used oil in some bottles, and it trying to make extra profit?

Sorry, but if the OP was that concerned, he should have checked the lot #'s himself. If he was that concerned, he could have sent samples of the oil to Blackstone labs and have it analysed. www.balckstone-labs.com

Apoligy accepted from me.

rftucker said,

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, working for a living.
Sorry also for my earlier response and if I had realized that it offended anyone I would not of made the statement.
Bad day at Black Rock last couple of days.
Again Sorry
BTW:The dealer is giving 5 new quarts of oil.
The customer service at MINI USA responded with, "Contact the Dealer"

I don't really think rftucker was trying to be nasty or anything. Sometimes we just do not communicate as well as we would like. This forum is new to him and I think he needs to be welcomed and given a break.

Mini oil

I like Ronnie948's response.
To comment on a person based on that one sentence is being very hippocritical and nasty. Those who made those comments should be ashamed, since they never met rftucker.
He could be a great guy that is a team player for all you know.
I think the menbers who made these nasty comments are worse than rftucker and don't deserve to be on the board or drive a Mini.
Very narrow minded people make comments like the ones above with no knowledge of the person, their background or their personality.
How about Obama making promises prior to getting elected and then not keeping them. Rftucker is the better person, after his apology.

None of you deserve MINIs so please have them all delivered to me. I will see that they go to good homes where they are fed properly and treated with kindness.

Gee, this thread really went nuts.

Good to hear...I think some folks were wondering if you were just making a post or answer to get stuff stired up. I wouldn't worry....it gave us all an excuse to blow of some steam!! Hopefully your future interactions here will be less crazy!!

This thread just proves the point that money is not the root of all evil....oil is.

People are in conflict all over the planet because of it and it has transcended to this thread about oil.

We must immediately turn our attention to alternate sources of energy so we can all live in peace. Instead of spending billions of dollars on a war that can't be won, the oil importing leaders of the free world should buy MINI Es for all of their countrymen (speaking of countrymen, anyone see the new R60?).

If you agree and wish to support this cause, please send your tax deductible contribution via PM & paypal to my log-in.

Good night and good luck.

While I agree with you about energy, I think this thread shows a distinct prejudice against oils of a darker color.

Oils of a darker color are refined at night. Lighter ones on bright sunny day. Sorry it took me so long to settle this.

Motor on....

... and then there's Morbier Oil, with the light oil on the top half of the
bottle, the dark oil on the bottom half, and a thin layer of ash in between
to separate the two.

Mini Oil

It seems I may have been racist over the oil I purchased, but I did add both light and dark oil to my Mini S. So I do support integration.
With that in mind I hope you are happy with Senator Brown's Victory.

Our cars
2007 Mini S with integrated oil
2010 Lexus RX350
2001 Boxster S
2000 Carrera Cab.

This thread has been very entertaining, thank god we weren't talking about different colored gasoline. Ethics aside welcome back, rftucker! Earlier in the thread I might of spelled that different. Lets all just relax. SPRING IS AROUND THE CORNER.....

Forget about the color deviations, did you perform a taste test?

Some oils may have great taste and be less filling, which means you have to put in more than the suggested quantity.

I did the taste test and it was really pretty good. Got rid of all the bad feelings that took place on this thread. Also got rid of some indigestion also from this thread.
BTW, got 5 new quarts of oil from the dealer and a new drain plug washer on the house. Not really on my house, their house
So out with the old and in with the new
Happy Days

Perhaps the color difference was due to some being Extra Virgin, and the other being more experienced?

Darker oil most likely has moly (molidium disulfide) as one of the wear inhibitors which is common. It is no worse or better than other components that may be used. Availability and delivered price drive the formulations.

Do not worry about darker oil.

I came out of the lube industry and do know of what I speak.

But why would one batch of the same brand and viscosity have more moly than the other batch of the same exact oil except for the code stamped on the plastic bottle.

the different code indicates it was made on a different date and quite possibly a different plant. Additives that are functionally identical and fully tested are quite often interchanged within a system of plants and occassionally at a single plant.

If you can provide me the codes there is some chance that I can determine more specifically what is going on.

Again, there should be no worry and the oils can be used mixed together.
