2010 Model Tire Pressure Sensor "new"

I'm wondering if anyone else has heard that the R56's built after Oct 09 (2010 model year) have a different tire pressure sensor. So you have to spend the $120/tire plus $27/tire for the new valve stems to upgrade older wheels.
Has anyone trired taking off the sensors??
I want to buy new wheels but would much rather buy "used".

This might explain why the sensors didn't work on my 2009 with wheels the dealer swapped from a 2010. They didn't tell me they were different though, they just said it was "defective" and swapped them out.

I'm sure that is case. They don't work together either way I was told.

Just went through this when purchasing wheels for my new '10. Fortunately I caught a heads-up here in the wheel & tire forum. The new sensors are $80 each from Tire Rack, and another $8 for valves. Installed free when purchasing new tire/wheel package.
