R56 when you pass another mini do you wave !!!!
flash them dammit
jim
I've only had my mini for a week but have gotten a few wave-backs.
Actually, last night a mini pulled up behind me at a red light while one was passing me - I was so stoked that I whomped my car while waving furiously to the passing mini....the mini owner behind me laughed pretty hard.
I would have felt like a tool if I wasn't so happy to see two minis at once.

I'm always really happy to see other MINIs, as I wave and beep at them.
I always wave! I'd have to say that my wave to return wave ratio is quite high! I think its about 6 out of 10. Sometimes people just don't notice-- I don't think anyone who drives a MINI doesn't wave on purpose.... that would be SOOOO very UN-MINI of them.
Not sure if it's because you see MINIs often in Toronto or if we're just cold like that.
as a former jeep owner vette owner, biker, vw we always waved but there is always one sour puss out there , as a mini owner its a requirement to wave but there is always going to be the one stuck up sour puss keep the wave alive it brightens my day
I throw up a "M" with my hand (my middle and ring finger crossed and my thumb against my palm, like i'm throwing up a gang sign) and shout MINI (even if my windows are closed). I'm the most passive driver but when someone doesn't wave or even Recognize another Mini i have some choice words for those people haha (but i don't let them hear) I'm in NYC and there are a ton of Mini's however i didn't really notice until i had mine. And we all know there are plenty of drivers who wouldn't know if their car was on fire while driving let alone see or care about another mini
Lot's of non-waving MINI owners in DC and down here in Charlotte. I'll be moving to Park City,UT next spring after my AT thru-hike where hopefully I'll encounter more enthusiastic MINI folks.

I always try and wave, flash or honk. Sometimes I get a response, most times though I get nothing. It doesn't discourage me though. I'll keep waving cause I know here are people out there that feel the same as I.
Keep motoring people and also how many out the have the app Mini Link? It is a pretty cool app that will locate other MINIs in the local area that have the app and there other things you can do to interact with other MINIs.

I'll keep on waving though!
I mostly get puzzled looks. My success rate in NJ is probably 8/10.
+1!
And to the red MINI on I-29 yesterday morning; sorry I missed the wave!
I was paying too much attention to the guy chasing my MINI trying to prove he was faster... he wasn't.
I wave when I see them! I've had mine since late March and have about 5 wave-backs...
What's the ettiquete when you are both traveling in the same direction on a freeway? I drive the PA Turnpike every morning and I see a mini pass me on the left, but never can look over to see if they're waving...

I wave at every MINI I see. For a while down in FL I wasn't getting many waves, but we had had a huge boom in MINIs of people buying them for the gas economy, not the economy. They are the ones you wave too and they just look at you like "wtf?". But it doesn't mean we change. We just keep on waving.
I always find it awkward to acknowledge a MINI if I'm passing them on the same side of traffic. If I come up slow, beep, then continue my passing they may think I am trying to race. If I go flying by and beep they may get scared that they were drifting into my lane or something. But again that is usually thoughts if they aren't really "MINI people" because true owners know and either beep back, wave, flash the headlights, or follow you for a caravan haha

I'm in SLC, (20 Minutes from PC according to the sign). So far I think we I have only gotten a few waves- few = 3...maybe 4.
I hope your experience is better as I have all but given up on waving here. Also, winter tires have been great this year! No problems, although I didn't take the Mini up to PC on any of the snow days. I'm just getting ready to swap out for the performance maybe this weekend.
