Leaving the Mini world soon....

I made the mistake of going to test drive a C6 Corvette a couple months ago and decided I must have one....so I paid off my car last week and put it up for sale. I am guessing it will probably be sold in the next couple weeks. I have to say that out of all the cars I've driven, there has yet to be any other car (even the Vette) that gives the same driving experience as my 09 JCW. For anyone trying to decide between a loaded Cooper S and a stripped-down JCW....go for the JCW, you won't regret it.

Sounds like an exciting choice... but why not Z06... or better yet, a ZR1?! (Only half joking)

As powerful as the Vette is, the JCW is a completely different experience. Very "connected" to the road while the Vette feels less so, but incredibly powerful. The JCW is like driving a go-kart, the Vette really feels like a much bigger car.

As far as why not a Z06, I don't have $65k laying around for a new one and I'd be afraid a used one was beat to hell and back, and would still cost me $40-45k for a 2006 with reasonable mileage. My insurance would probably drop me in about 3 seconds if I ever had a claim with a Z06 too since I'm only 24 and have a couple prior claims (none my fault, but claims nonetheless).

I have driven both R56 and R55 JCWs and would have to say there are a lot of cars out there that provide a similar "driving experience". But the R53 JCW is on another level. Only car I've driven that has approached it is the Lotus Elise. And I can't say I clearly preferred the Elise...

I can imagine the Vette is a blast to drive. But not sure I could live with all the small genitals jokes, though. That would get old very fast.

Small genitals jokes? I'm 24....how bout all the "is that your dad's car?" and redneck jokes?

There might be other cars rivaling the JCW, but I haven't driven them.

Had a 64Vette, traded it for a Porsche, then 68 Lotus, dont remember much about the vette except it was very fast in a straight line and got terrible mileage and was a lot of fun to drive.

I got the "is that your dad's car a lot" I was 18 at the time and spent the previous 2 years working my *** off at a pizzeria to afford my 84 vette. That car taught me a lot. Thank god for Auto Shop in high school. Save me sooo much money and taught me how to handle repairs on my car. Eventually had to sell it once i fel the trans start to slip. Couldn't afford that headache. All said and done i would buy another vette in a instant.
