Drove it; Liked it; Bought it!

Hello All,
I'm a new Mini owner. Just purchased an 07 s. Not too sure what i got because I bought it from a dealer that didn't know what he had. All I'm sure of is it has a sun roof and buttons on the steering wheel. I pick it up Friday and will begin to try to figure out what options it has then.

Does any one know if there is any difference in the options available in 07 vs 09?

Aw...too bad you had to miss out having your brain turned to pudding by ordering a MINI and waiting at least forever for it to cross the sea. That's why so many of us are "a bit far gone."

Anyway....the '08s and '09s have a different flat tire sensor connected to the valve stem. Earlier iterations used DSC circuit thingies.

Drove it; Liked it; Bought it! ... Soon to be addicted to it!

There are only really minor differences between the 07's and newer hardtops. Off the top of my head the bluetooth options changed a little. 09 gets an eLSD and DTC as options instead of just a mechanical LSD and DSC.

Mostly it's a lot of "little" things like that.

Congratulations! You've never really driven a car until you have driven a MINI! You're going to have so much fun! Post pics and we will tell you about all the options your car has.

I know it seems like forever, but for a european car, Mini is down right speedy with their delivery time, Audi usually takes like 3 mos.

Not in Canada! We do not have the TPM sensors inside the tires connected to the valve stems. I am sure that set-up is more reliable than using the DSC/ABS sensor (or whatever) to monitor pressure (Canadian built MINI's), but also makes getting new tires more expensive, and is an added expense to buying a winter tire package.

Either way though-- TPM are a good thing!

Looks like a sweet ride! Same color and interior as mine, but I have the Clubman. You're going to love it!

You may or may not have a USB port come standard with an '07.

Silver MINI

Hey Dortoh!
You will have fun with your new MINI. I would think that if you looked up your VIN it should tell you everything right? Either way you will love driving and enjoying the new toy. I am starting a club in my area, not sure where you live. I am in Northern CA (Central Valley MINIS)
I will be posting my website soon thru NAM. I think you can do this, but I am still in the working process.
SO many of the MINI enthusiasts are good at their cars and and know how everything works. NAM is a great information tool.
I just feel as if every MINI owner is special. I hope you can get all the downloads from your dealer about the car and how some things work. It will take time to work it out but each day you will be smiling as you drive. I check the garage each night to say 'I really have a MINI!'.
Good luck and let us know how you like it!
Happy Friday.
-Stacy

Yea but the new system (while bit more accurate) is $200 for the set, so if you want a second set of wheels or even upgrade your rim you have to add $200 to that, the old way worked fine and cost nothing.

Oh I know, but its still a PITA. Also you risk damaging them every time you get a flat, or move them to a new set of tires. If they were $10 a piece I wouldn't have a problem with them, but its really a retarded place to put a $50 sensor, that really not needed.

I took the long, foot-dragging route, but ended up in the same place.

Welcome to NAM!
