That's really a subjective question. My stock RF's lasted about 17k. I could have squeezed a few more miles out, but wet weather tracking was really starting to suffer.
What is the expected longevity of the runflats? Is it more, less or the same as conventional tires driven similarly.
Since the main difference is the strengthened sidewalls of the runflats, the expected longevity should be the same. (I would assume the rubber is the same.)
It's typically not the fact they are RFs that creates shorter life, it's the fact that most fo the RFs that come standard on the MINIs are "performance" tires. This translates to softer rubber hittin' the road. THIS is the reason for the shorter life span.

I think the OP was wanting to compare apples to apples: performance runflats with performance non-runflats.

Mine lasted ~50K.
Hmm not sure about that, I would think the stiffer sidewall would cause the tread to wear a bit quicker as it would put more pressure on the tread. Still they should be rated by the mfg, I wouldnt think they would want them wear significantly more than the non RFT version, and if so the mfg would compensate. I cant wait to get rid of my RFT's but I'm seeing more and more available I wonder if its not just the contis I hate (I hate their regular tires as well), wondering if I would like a better RFT, I do like stiff sidewalls.

To edit my own post, i expect top get the same mileage out of my current RE-01R's as my RF's as well.
My Conti runflats have just reached treadwear indicators, and I'm approaching 25k. Should've replaced them sooner because wet traction's been really bad the last few months, and snow traction was just about nil this winter. Thankfully thankfully we didn't get much because I only just got the $ for new tires (non-runflats).
Thanks all. I've noticed little wear thus far so fortunately it looks like I've got a while to go before replacing them. Not that I love the tires but I definitely don't want to spend the money.
on the subject of tires and run flats. Here i sit. in the dealership waiting on a tire replacement for a flat. it's my 4th flat since Nov. i commute heavily as my work fire station is 58 miles from home and my volunteer station is 42 miles away. with the only MINI dealer in the state in ABQ i find myself in excess of 30 miles from home when that low tire light goes off. its pretty nice knowing i can just cruise home and bring it in the morning. and with the tire warranty i'm not out of pocket for the tires. yeah they are stiff. sometimes like wood. when they break traction they break hard, but i can deal with it.
Just to throw in my $.02, I got about 40k - 42k out of my RFT Dunlops.
But the Parada Spec 2's I replaced them with are on track for a whole lot less. By the looks of things I doubt I'll get 30k out of them.
I'm at about 18k right now and mine stock Goodyear run flats are shot. Granted they did live through a weekend of tracking and quite a few "spirited" drives.
