Taking over a 2007 MCS lease

Hello everyone,

I've been seriously considering purchasing a 2009 MC within the next few weeks. But a friend of mine knows someone with a 2007 MCS with 8,500 miles with 16 payments left of $350 and wishes to get out of the lease. 36K miles are allowed. This is all I know so far, and I have never taken over a lease before. Any thoughts or comments?

Thanks
Mike

Sounds like you'd be renting a car for 16 months for $350 a month.

You have nothing at the end of spending $5600. You tell me if thats a good deal to you?

Me, I'd pass.

Find out what the residual value on the lease is (how much it will cost you to buy the car at the end of the lease period if you choose to). Add up the residual value and the $5600 you will have spent in lease payments and see how that compares to used-car prices for a 2007 'S'.

Unless the residual + payments compares favorably to just buying a used 2007 outright, I'd probably pass as well.
