I had an '07 MCSa for around 9 months and 23k mi (I know right? What IS it with these cars wanting to be driven?!). It never had any mechanical issues, just a very slight warping of the hood scoop that was so difficult to see I didn't bother getting it replaced.

My partner had a 2008 MCm for approximately the same amount of time and nearly the same mileage and he had no issues.

I'm now on order for a 2010 MCSm and have 0 reservations about it. The one thing I will do differently this time though is change the oil more than once every 17k mi!! That stuff looked like tar when it came out!

Sorry, I'm new here. What is the difference between a MCSa and MCSm?

104,000+ miles and still going strong

I have 104,000+ miles on my 2007 Mini Cooper. I had a thermostat replaced and that is it.
I have been looking for a replacement from a month or so now, but with no luck. The only reason I am loooking at that is because I have a 2- and 4-year old who are getting too big to fit in the back anymore. Their little legs dont fit behind my seat, so they can't help but kick it everytime they move. If they were a foot taller their legs could wrap down under my seat and they would fit perfectly.
I have tried everything that could be comperable to the Mini, from Volkswagons and Hondas, to Hyundai's new Veloster. There is nothing, and I mean nothing that could replace my Mini. I am so spoiled with my car. Leather, stick, sunroof, 38.5 current average MPGs, and an absolute blast to drive. Every other brand is lacking in some or multiple categories.

I am on the fence now, do I buy a used or new Clubman and will it in the long run drive, handle, and play the same as my Mini?

If you aren't so enthused about a Clubman, how about a Countryman?

Mine has been trouble free, it has been in the dealer's shop only for its annual oil change and inspection, they found no problems.

I have heard that the Countryman feels too "big". I don't really want a bigger car, just a few more inches of rear leg room for the kids.

BTW I am over 107,000 miles now and am getting ready to make a road trip from Central PA to Central Indiana in two weeks. Maybe I'll crack 110k by then...
