R56 Mudflaps - front and rear
I agree with your view on the rear ones look a little oversized; to me they take away from the unique design of the car to begin with while the front ones are much smaller and better integrated.
Customizing is what the MINI is all about

Mine has the front flaps only, and I agree they work well. The rear ones look a little oversized and funny to my eye, so I passed on those. The "naked" look with the tires and suspension showing seems a little sportier and that's the look I'm happy with.
On the other hand, my sister-in-law has both front and rears on her MC and thinks they look great. That's the fun of the Mini - customizing it to your individual taste.

The front ones work really well as the MINI's side splash is a major problem, and this is virtually eliminated with the front ones. Looks-wise, they are pretty much invisible. The rear ones are very noticeable and I am not convinced that they benefit your MINI much (however they do benefit the guy behind you).
My advice - go with the front only. They are an easy DIY installation, look good and do the job. The jury is out on the in-your-face rear flaps.
