Some help for a guy who is becoming one of you

Ok I bought my 2009 Mini Cooper S to be my daily driver and just get around car here in Germany. But being as I am 34 years old I did a good bit of reading about this car before I bought it. When I first started reading about these cars I was like WTF is wrong with these people!?!?!? A little over the top for a group of guys who are driving a little forgien car too me. I mean you guys call it the boot and not the truck or what not. But now I have had my MCS (see how I did that haha) for less than 24 hours and I am falling into the same OCD catagory as most of you. I really do like this car, what a blast to drive. So here is my question; does anyone have the maintenance schedule for a 2009 MCS? I have the picture filled booklet it comes with but it doesn't say what the time frame or mileage required to bring it in for service. The salesman here told me to bring it in for my first service at 15,000 miles. If this is correct I will eat my shorts!!!!!!!! If someone would please help me find this information.

Yep, the MINI will tell you when it needs to go to Service. Some choose not to trust the length between oil changes, most do.

By the way, I'm guessing you're in the military. If so, which branch and where in Germany are you ? I spent two tours in Germany in the Air Force.

I suggest boiling the shorts until they dissolve. Dump out the water and fire up the grill. Wave the empty bowl over the grill and put a nice steak on the grill, maybe an ear of corn, and season to taste. Bon appetite!

The little window on the tach will show miles to service each time you start your MCS. It counts down for you. When it gets to 1000 call your dealership for an appointment.

Thank you for you commitment. USAF back in the 80's.

Woody,
Thank you for your service to our country! Your saleman is correct. The dealer provided "free" service (the one you paid for) usually occurs around 15,000 miles (or after one year). While some subscribe to that, most would be nuts not to change the oil sooner and more often ESPECIALLY if you plan on keeping the car. A common practice is to change the oil first around 1,500 - 2,000 miles, then every 5-7,500 miles depending upon driving habits and personality.

Yeah on that dealer paid for free service, well that doesn't work for us in Europe. You only get that back home in the states. I am going to change my oil as I have in all my drag cars I have built. I am going to change it at 500 miles, then 1,200 miles then I'll do it like I would any regular car at 5-7500 as mentioned here. Thanks guys. Also what weight of royal purple would you guys use?

Woody..
I bought my car in Mainz... The car was delivered to Karl & Co, the bmw dealership there, you may want to contact them for service! Or if you bought it from pentagon car sales.. I would check with them as well
