Does the Mini have an "automatic setting" for headlights?

Yes. It's on the directional stalk if I am not mistaken.

Thanks. I figured it did. My daughter picked up her SS/B MC earlier today. I couldn't remember if it had an auto-on setting for headlights. Thanks.

Are these on 2009s? I just checked mine and there are three settings: Headlights On, Parklights On, and Off.

If I have it on headlights on and turn off the car, the headlights turn off, but the parking lights remain on. I'm going to RTFM now!

You can select automatic "on" for the daytime driving lights, but I'm not aware of any such setting for the regular headlights. Always ready to learn something, new, though!

I think I figured it out. "Automatic on" works for the Headlights, not the Daytime Running Lights. Daytime Running are turned on or off seperately. When headlight switch at automatic on, with daytime running lights on, headlights are on low beam, no tail lights, no interior dash lights. Go into a tunnel or somewhere dark and auto on activates and headlights, tail lights are on for normal night driving. So as I understand it, I would just leave it set at automatic on and basically forget about it.
Or am I missing something.

If yours has the auto headlights, there are four positions for the headlight switch: off, parking lights, on, and auto (I believe it has a small "A").

I leave mine on Auto all the time. Works well.

Kav,

You confirmed what I was saying. Yes, just leave it on automatic. Do you have bluetooth set up? If so, see my recent post on Nav/Audio section and maybe you could answer that one!

Thanks again, Finner

Is this part of the comfort/convenience package or something? My '09 Clubman S doesn't have this feature as near as I can tell........

Dave, on my 2008 the auto lights were part of the convenience package - bundled with the rain sensor, auto-dimming mirror, and cruise.

Finner, wish I could but unfortunately mine doesn't have the bluetooth option - sorry!

MiniDave,
I don't think its part of a package. Just look at the turn signal lever. You should have little indicators for parking lights, head lights. Also one indicator with a little "a" for automatic headlights.

Daytime Running Lights is a setup option. For me with NAV we turned on Daytime Running Lights thru the setup process.

MiniDave,

Ooops. Yes, auto headlights and rain sensor part of convenience pkg. I knew rain sensor was, and was thinking auto headlight was a standard feature.
