R56 Clutchless
Sad a guy asks a question and gets a lot of really sarcastic comments...I don't get it. Maybe there should be a thread where all of you can approve the thread prior to posting. I thought this was a forum where people can go to ask questions and learn. I have seen some really bad questions but this is not one of them.
To try and answer your question...like Dchap said the trans is a syncro trans but not to do damage you have to be at the right RPM to do it, not recommended.

Well maybe were reading diffrent posts...maybe the OP decided it wasn't worth hanging around..wouldn't blame him either.
As long as OP isn't muscling the stick to neutral, it is just another way to skin a cat. If you get my meaning.
The time proven method of sneaking up on an Aggie is 1) approach at a moderate pace 2) when within 50 yards, yell "look a (beer truck, female, stray dog, whatever)" and point. 3) bag the Aggie while he looks

Now does it work on female aggies too?
sheesh... ask a simple question... i normally don't do this because to me it's just second nature to use the clutch, so i don't even think about it. but if i feel lazy or i'm in stop and go traffic i'll start doing it to keep my leg from getting tired.
or hell, sometimes i do it just to do it and go, "wow, that was supercool! i just pulled it out of gear without using the clutch and it was very smooth and effortless and doesn't cause ANY damage whatsoever. i'm going to post it on NAM because i'm sure my fellow mini aficionados will ALSO think this is supercool and will have nothing but nice things to say."
