well, i cheated..... ..took it home, did it in the basement, i waited for the parts to "warm up" to the room temperature including the sprays...an hour later, i heard a mouthful from my tenants about the stench of aerosol .....but it was worth every curse word LOL
LOL!! Looks exceptional!!
I think I'll need to wait until spring, or a good warm spell. Can't have those fumes in the house, I'd never live it down.
Someone could also paint things bodycolor if their issue is not liking the chrome. Looks 100 times better than big black rings in the middle of a bright yellow paint job for example. If you want to get rid of the chrome, some nice yellow headlight rings would really clean up the look. (just using yellow as an example).
On some color cars black works really well as an accent color (DS and black). I'm just not a fan of black accents on bright colors where it sticks out like a sore thumb. I just personally like things looking smooth like they were meant to be there rather than looking like something you definitely changed from stock.
No more chrome for those who don't like chrome, but also no obtrusive contrast either:

We do them....all the parts we paint all colors. Not a vendor so I dont post up. Maybe soon.
From day one I have wanted to paint all my chrome Laser Blue and have always been against the bold black accents. But considering I am getting married this year, I need to save my money. Therefore I will be plasti dipping my chrome until I can afford to get the parts painted laser blue. Better than the out of place chrome.

*waits for someone to attempt to solve their wheelgap issue with plasti-dip instead of buying coilovers*
It would look just as good in any color, because it blends. IMO, much nicer than a big black dot in the middle of the rear quarter.
I have to agree. One of the big design characteristics of the MINI are large, smooth, and flat side panels . There's no BMW shadow line, no VW style rubstrips, and nothing else to break up the flow. On any color other than black, painting the handles or gascap black just places a noticable black dot right in the middle of an attractive smooth colored surface. I'd much rather blend it with the same body color so that it doesn't detract from the flow of the side panels.
Better yet I'd prefer a Cooper gas lid....but that's just a personal preference.
yeah, i think the cooper lid does alot to smooth out the sides.
and a dark silver cooper s cap looks good because (to me) dark silver is not too far from chrome.
has anyone matched the s gas cap to body color on a "colorful" cooper s though?
Yeah, it's been done. While my current car is not a "light" color, I had mine powder coated and the gloss black matches the Jet Black of the car very nicely. I believe Vinyl Styles' gas cap doors are matched to the correct color of the car.

Contact these guys and see if they ship overseas, or may provide distributor in your region ?
